Brett A. Chicko, DPM
Dr. Chicko was born and raised in the Boston, MA area. He went to Boston College on a football scholarship and graduated with a Marketing degree. Later he attended Northeastern University for pre-medicine. He received his Doctor of Podiatric Medicine degree from Temple University School of Podiatric Medicine in Philadelphia, PA in 2001.
Dr. Chicko completed his three year podiatric surgical residency at the Crozer-Keystone Health Systems in Delaware County, PA and was named Chief Resident. During his residency, he wrote 'The Crozer-Keystone Podiatric Residency and Externship Manual'.
Dr. Chicko was awarded "Top Doc of Northern Virginia" in 2013 and 2014. He served as Chairperson of Podiatry at Mary Washington Hospital in Fredericksburg, VA from 2017 to 2018. He is certified in both Foot Surgery and Reconstructive Rearfoot and Ankle Surgery.
Dr. Chicko is married to his wife, Mary Ann, and in the summer of 2013, they celebrated their tenth wedding anniversary. They have two children, Audrey and Evan.
In 2012, Dr. Chicko was inducted into the "Norwell High School Athletic Hall of Fame" for his achievements in both wrestling and football. Dr. Chicko has run four marathons and four half marathons (two pushing his son in a jogging stroller) as well as a sprint triathlon. He has written four novels and two memoirs. He is an avid cook and a hack guitarist, but mostly, Dr. Chicko likes to spend time with his family. He is also the proud Godfather of five children.
